Don't be shy when muddling the sugar cube. It has to really get mashed and macerated to sweeten the drink. 

If you're fresh out of rye whiskey, you can always substitute bourbon. Whatever you do, don't neglect the bitters. They add balance and complexity to the drink. 

Sit back, relax and enjoy judging celebrities you don't know on their acting abilities in movies you didn't see.
