Fortunately, another Olympian was there to save the day. Runner and man bun enthusiast Evan Jager had an extra hair tie, which he happily lent to Coburn before the race began.

Coburn went on to win the bronze.
For the surprising number of Twitter users wondering, yes — Coburn did return the hair tie to Jager, who then wore it to compete in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase.
He took silver.
