Afternoon of casual golf interrupted by a massive python eating a wallaby
Golf isn't a sport one would associate with high risk situations. Unless of course, you're playing a round of 18 holes in sub-tropical Australia.
Golfer Robert Williamse's casual Saturday round turned a little Planet Earth, when he spotted a 4 metre (13 foot) python crushing the life out of a wallaby, in the middle of the green, according to The Cairns Post.
Williamse told the newspaper that the python made relatively quick work of the lifeless marsupial, as bystanders watched on.
“The python swallowed it and rolled into the creek, then snuck back into the bush. It must have gone for a rest for the next few days," Williamse said.
The "circle of life" demo was a stark contrast to the meticulously-groomed greens of the Far North Queensland golf course.
What a perfectly legitimate and terrifying excuse to get out of playing golf.
