Sir Paul McCarrrrr-tney joins 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales'
LOS ANGELES -- Paul McCartney will appear in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, in an undisclosed (and likely brief) role, Mashable has confirmed.
Sir Paul -- who has overwhelmingly played "himself" in 20-odd film and TV acting credits -- adds a bit of Beatles to the Disney franchise that, up until this point, has been all Rolling Stones (with Keith Richards as Jack Sparrow's long-lost father in On Stranger Tides and At World's End).

According to the Hollywood trade blog Deadline, which first reported McCartney's involvement Thursday, he was added for an "extra big set-piece scene" that was shot after principal photography had concluded.
Not that there's a huge rush: Directors Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg (Kon-Tiki) have a little over a year to add the scene to Dead Men Tell No Tales, which opens in May 2017.
So far, Richards is not slated to appear in this, the fifth installment of Disney's megafranchise -- at least not that we know of. But wouldn't that be fun?
