Would you buy these $15 period brownies?

Some of them contain primrose.

Eating chocolate during your period is one of those tropes I just don't understand. How am I supposed to eat chocolate while I am busy sobbing at a commercial for soup?

But those who are members of the period chocolate community might be interested in these new treats from Washington bakery Moon Cycle, which the company is launching on Dec. 15 after enjoying some well-deserved success on Kickstarter.

Basically, users will download the app and create a profile with their dietary restrictions and also their "favorite rituals." From there, it functions kind of like a normal period tracker (Clue, Eve, etc.), with one exception: you get a parcel of treats.

Above, for example, is the Ms. Sweet Potato Brownie, which contains dark chocolate and maple syrup. There are also Matcha Coconut Bites, Raspberry Black Bean Brownies with Primrose (gluten free!), and Chocolate Cups with Ginger and Honey.

And these aren't Duncan Hines, either (although Duncan Hines brownies are delicious) -- they contain ingredients like chia seeds, vitamin C, iron, magnesium, and, as The Takeout points out, something called gamma-linolenic acid.

As you might expect, these gourmet treats will set you back a pretty penny. One treat costs $15, while packages of two or three cost $23 and $30, respectively.

Is it worth it, or should you just grab a gargantuan bag of pretzel M&M's? You decide.
