Pete Souza's here to defend Jay-Z with the Obama-era throwback pic we all needed

Ain't no shade like Souza shade.

The law of present day politics is as follows: For every Donald Trump tweet there's a Pete Souza Instagram just waiting to throw shade.

On Sunday, Barack Obama's official White House photographer dug into his archives to unearth this absolutely beautiful, stylish, feel-good shot of rapper Jay-Z laughing beside the former U.S. president.

WHY? Because, Trump apparently now has beef with Jay.

Trump fired up his Twitter fingers on Sunday morning to respond to comments Jay-Z made about him on CNN's Saturday night debut of The Van Jones Show.

Jay-Z told Van Jones the reports that Trump asked lawmakers, "Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?" during a discussion on America's immigration deal were "hurtful," claiming Trump is "so misinformed."

The rapper went on to discuss how Trump's racist behavior needs to be addressed, calling him "a superbug."

In response to Jay's comments, Trump simply tweeted informing him that black unemployment rates are the lowest ever, a data point he's previously taken all the credit for -- though that's not the full story.

Souza's throwback photo of Obama and Jay laughing together was perfectly captioned, "Say what?"

The simple two-word response went along with Jay-Z's comments to Van Jones, in which he claimed Trump's obsession with low employment rates is missing the point.

"...it's not about money at the end of the day. Money doesn't equate to happiness. It doesn't," Jay-Z said.

The photo also took a jab at the fact that Jay, a close friend of the Obama family, has yet to visit Trump in the White House.

So Souza's shade has been thrown, but Trump still has Queen Bey to fear. For all we know, as you read this she could be planning another visual-album-in-the-form-of-an-HBO-feature to take Trump down.
