Olympic athletes are upset 'Pokémon Go' isn't available in Rio
If you're going to Rio de Janeiro for the 2016 Olympics, whether as a visitor or an participating athlete, you'll have to face one harsh reality: Pokémon Go is a no-go.
The game launched last month and quickly rose to the top of the app store charts on iOS and Android, shattering records along the way. Pokémon Go has been sitting on top ever since, as the game has expanded into Asia and Europe.
Rio, however, is not one of the cities where Pokémon Go has been released, and Niantic Labs, the developers behind the game, hasn't announced a timeline for when it will be.
