Accidentally sending a company-wide email can tank your career with one click — or it can lead to merciless trolling from your coworkers.

On Thursday night, news anchor and traffic reporter Nick Vasos tried to email his boss at Kansas City's Fox4 News to say he needed to take a sick day, but he accidentally sent it to his entire company instead. By Friday morning, the hashtag #PrayersForNick was trending on Twitter.

Because Vasos sent the email to a bunch of journalists, who are typically extremely active on Twitter, the trolling was especially swift and brutal, both inside the company email chain and online.

Anchors Jessica Garate and Brittany Bade from sister station KRQE in New Mexico even sent Vasos a message from set, apparently along with some "green chile stew."

According to Fox4, Vasos' email was sent to "nearly 200 TV stations" before the thread was eventually shut down by its parent company, Nexstar.

Before laying his sick head down to rest on Thursday night, Vasos sent out a tweet to his colleagues, warning them of the dangers of sending out a mass email. He also shared the email address to the entire internet, so maybe Vasos should just unplug for a few days.

Feel better, Nick.
