Following Prince's death on Thursday, the Internet is honoring and celebrating the artist by highlighting some of his greatest performances, including the time he joined Michael Jackson and James Brown for a spontaneous jam session.

The performance happened on Aug. 20, 1983 at the Beverly Theater in Hollywood, during a James Brown concert. Brown called Jackson to the stage -- who entertained the crowd with his newly minted moonwalk -- before Jackson encouraged Brown to call up Prince.

Brown, allegedly, had not yet heard of Prince (this was shortly before Purple Rain was released) but he humored Jackson, inviting the young star to join them. Prince obliged -- being carried to the stage via piggyback -- and before long he was playing guitar, stripping off his cloths and knocking over a light.

Reddit users claim that Prince was unhappy with the whole thing (he was a notorious control freak), but it still seems like a great way to become a legend.
