Reese Witherspoon wants more 'Big Little Lies' as much as you do
HBO's Big Little Lies may have burned through Liane Moriarty's original book, but the story could continue.
On Wednesday, Reese Witherspoon went on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and said that she and Nicole Kidman had been discussing their characters' future with Moriarty for a possible second season.
"That's gotta happen," DeGeneres said.
“We hope so. I mean, I feel like it’s — Nicole [Kidman] and I produced as well, so we’ve been talking to the writer, Liane Moriarty, who wrote the book, about just new ideas of what these characters could do,” Witherspoon said in a clip from the show. “But it seems like people just love the characters, so hopefully we can go on.”
Big Little Lies aired on HBO from February through April 2017, breaking Moriarty's novel into seven hourlong episodes starring Witherspoon, Kidman, Laura Dern, and Zoe Kravitz. While buzz is building for Season 2, HBO hasn't confirmed anything yet (and they might be busy what with winter coming and all).
