Cereal-coated churros are the latest drool-worthy dessert
Cereal and churros are two of life's sweetest simple pleasures, so it was only a matter of time before someone combined the two for a match made in snack food heaven.
This trendy treat is found at Ridges Churro Bar, a Los Angeles food truck where customers can customize a classic cinnamon sugar churro with a coating of Fruity Pebbles or Reese's Puffs cereal, Circus Animal cookies, Nutella and more.

There are up to eight churro topping options rotating at any given time, and the piping-hot pastries are served up in a cup of cool vanilla ice cream. Because of its popularity, the Fruity Pebbles topping is the only permanent option.
The concoction is the brainchild of Ridges' owners, husband-and-wife team James and Nancy D. Phan, who left careers in banking and fashion before rolling out their food truck last year, LA Weekly reported.
Despite the fact that the couple had no prior baking experience, Ridges' churros have been selling like hot cakes at pop-ups around Los Angeles, making stops at trendy hang outs including Angel City Brewery, Little Tokyo and Venice's Abbot Kinney, as well as night markets, festivals and fairs.
The Phans told LA Weekly they plan to expand the business into a permanent storefront soon, but for now, hungry snackers in the LA area can follow the food truck via Ridges' Twitter.
And for those who can't make it in person, Ridges' sugary-sweet Instagram will hopefully hold you over in the meantime (or probably just convince you to take a trip to LA.)
