Next time you're heading out on a drive this December, Santa Claus can give you directions.

Waze has launched a jolly new voice for its navigational app, allowing users to be directed by known rooftop-lander Santa from today until Dec. 31.

Look, I'm not saying Santa's not up for the job — as far as navigators go, the guy knows the best routes to zoom around the world at speed in a one-night-only traffic scenario with delivery — but this'll be a good test of how well he knows the roads, speed cameras, and sneaky detours around your neighbourhood. No rooftops. And you don't have Rudolph to guide your sleigh tonight.

Available in the U.S., the UK, and Canada in English language only, Santa's voice directions are one of a handful of pretty cute themed features Waze is launching for the holidays.

For the month of December, Waze will also let you turn your car icon into Santa's sleigh on the map, and switch on a new Santa "mood" which heralds your festive spirit to other drivers on the road with a little beard and hat.

To switch on the new holiday features, just hit the search magnifying glass icon, select "Drive with Santa," and turn whichever of the three features you'd like on.

If you're in the U.S., Waze has also partnered with Pandora to create a special holiday playlist to stream through the Waze Audio Player.

It's the latest voice cameo from Waze, with Batman and the Riddler, DJ Khaled, and Cookie Monster among those who have directed users in the past. But remember who's got the map this time — if Santa directs you onto someone's roof or forgets about the whole 'body of water' hurdle, don't say we didn't warn you.
