Companies are flooding Facebook with tributes to Singapore's first gold medal winner

SINGAPORE -- Brands know a good marketing moment. And Joseph Schooling winning Singapore's first Olympic gold medal ever is a darn good marketing moment.

While many in Singapore woke up on Saturday to news that the young swimmer bested Michael Phelps to clinch gold at the 100m butterfly, companies were quick to jump on the historic moment on Facebook.

McDonald's started giving away free nuggets:

Grocery delivery Honestbee started giving out gold chocolate medals.

Singapore Airlines gave Schooling a million miles points.

Mini commemorated Schooling's top-down winning shot.

Plenty of brands were obsessed with Schooling's winning time of 50:39 seconds.

And the puns. All those puns on schooling. We get it.

This one from the national education department probably takes the cake though.
