What happens when you mix the early noughties' nu rave trend with scholastic Chinese slogans? Fashion's next big thing, if Charm's has its way.

Yohan Kang, creative director of the South Korean streetwear label is popularly regarded as Seoul's answer to Moschino's Jeremy Scott.

Known for his cheeky streetwear designs that is favoured by male and female K-pop celebs such as ONew from Shinee and Sunny from Girl's Generation, Kang became the designer to watch when he took inspiration from post-war Japanese delinquents and '90s Hong Kong street gangsters last season, to revive embroidered bomber jackets.

For his latest Autumn/Winter 2016 collection, which debuted on Mar. 24 at Seoul Fashion Week, Kang once again turned heads by sending models down in stark utilitarian outfits emblazoned with Chinese slogans that read "Never say die" or "If you fight just to survive, you will lose."

Kang's latest show, which he titled "Chromite" is reminiscent of Henry Holland's 2006 collection of tongue-in-cheek slogan tees. But this collection also left us wondering if Kang's choice of stitching on intimidating messages across jumpers, scarves and coats, would be much better appreciated 10 years ago when the fashion world didn't yet embrace subtlety.

Fast forward to 2016, we'd much prefer our T-shirts to not scream Chinese vampire horror movie.
