Kids dream about the future like there's nothing standing in their way. But somewhere along the line, those dreams get squashed by a pesky little thing called "adulthood."

Here’s a staggering thought: One in two women have given up on their dreams. This figure comes from the Global Dreams Index Survey, the first survey of its kind conducted by luxury skincare brand SKI-II.

Just think about it: In every BFF pairing the world over, one of the women is unsatisfied with her life.

SK-II is on a mission to change that, and took steps toward helping women feel more fulfilled with the "Dream Again" event that took place on June 21.

By leaning on the expertise of the world’s best dreamers — children — this one-day event sought to inspire women to pursue their passions.

In the heart of the Central Business District in Raffles Place, children partnered with local personalities and celebrities to encourage adults to reconnect with their forgotten dreams.

Reminiscent of the "Dream Again | SK-II #changedestiny" film campaign (watch the full video below), where children act as hidden counselors to dreamless adults, the event featured children who appeared to be seeking advice from working executives and professionals, but were in fact there to inspire to them. Through these conversations, adults were encouraged to reignite their childhood mindset and rouse dreams unfiltered by societal expectations and demands.

The children were joined by Singaporean award-winning actress and SK-II Ambassador, Rebecca Lim, and many prominent local personalities — including fashion entrepreneur and founder of Eight Slate label Savina Chai, singer-songwriter Daphne Khoo, YouTube Creators Munah Bagharib & Hirzi Zulkilfie, and actors Joshua Tan and Maxi Lim — who served as aspirational figures chasing and living their dreams for the visitors to the pop-up.

The Global Dreams Index Survey, which was conducted with 5,400 women in 14 countries across six continents, found drastic results in Singapore, where a staggering 63% of women are not pursuing or have given up on their dreams. Only 17% in Singapore could claim that they were pursuing their dreams and satisfied with their lives -- a dismal statistic in comparison to other countries around the world.

In contrast, the survey found that 82% of women who pursue their dreams were satisfied with life and strongly identified a personal definition of success with “doing what you love.”

Following the success of "Marriage Market," “Dream Again | SK-II #changedestiny” is the latest installment in the brand’s #changedestiny campaign, which seeks to empower women to take control of their future and achieve their aspirations.

"The #changedestiny campaign challenges the belief that destiny is set at birth and celebrates women who have gone beyond limitations to achieve success,” said Markus Strobel, President Global SK-II. “By encouraging women to pursue their dreams and empowering them to overcome personal and societal limitations, we hope to inspire more women to change their destiny."
