The Force is strong with these giant 'sabertrees'

Singapore knows how to celebrate May the Fourth.

Unless you live in an underground apocalypse bunker, you probably noticed that yesterday was May the Fourth (a.k.a. Star Wars Day).

Businesses around the world tried their best to pay tribute to the beloved space saga. But Singapore really went that extra mile.

Partnering with Disney, the city-state transformed its Gardens By the Bay's giant solar-powered "supertrees" into "sabertrees."

Five "sabertrees" projected a 200-meter-high beam of light into the night sky to look like giant lightsabers, the weapon of Jedi and Sith knights.

There was also a 15-minute light performance called "Garden Rhapsody: Star Wars Edition," set against the Star Wars soundtrack.

And a replica of the All-Terrain Scout Transport, which featured for the first time in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, was also on display.

The giant trees will light up every night until May 6.
