SINGAPORE -- Like any other Singaporean, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong was excited about Wednesday morning's solar eclipse and even made it down to the Singapore Botanic Gardens to watch the spectacle.

Lee's post received plenty of replies from Singaporeans eager to finally be able to comment on the prime minister's Facebook as comments are usually disabled. In a matter of hours, the post garnered more than a thousand replies and shares.

While most were happy to share their eclipse photos with the prime minister and the rest of the country, others jumped at the opportunity to show off their comedic prowess.

There were some who shared the movie poster and book cover of the Twilight saga's Eclipse.
