Snapchat hot dog inception is the 1 redeemable quality about the whole filter

People on Twitter are getting pretty crafty with the augmented reality, processed-food phenomena known as the dancing hot dog filter on Snapchat.

Now, feast your eyes on the filter's latest meme: hot dogception (that’s the dancing hot dog if it were starring in the movie Inception). Twitter user @GCEParker is one of the latest people to create an Inception-like video featuring the hot dog as he dances away on someone’s electronic device.

Given how annoying the filter can be at times (at times, OK), this hot dog-video-within-a-video totally makes up for it.

But how did this get started? Casey Newton, an editor at The Verge, started the chain with a simple Tweet on Thursday showing off the hot dog dancing on his desk.

After that, someone took a video of his video with their own hot dog filter, and then Newtown repeated that process, and so on, and so on.

And that brings us back to the most recent video. Even Casey Neistat couldn't resist sending some kudos to the original masterpiece.

Or maybe he should win an Oscar Meyer wiener for it. Right? Riiiiiiight?

What a Leonardo DiCaprio-worthy journey this little hot dog has gone through.

That filter might provide some Inception-like fun for the time being, but make no mistake, it’s still on my list of 101 most annoying things.
