Snapchat is changing up its Stories page once again.

The app is reversing two previous changes it made: Stories will no longer auto-advance and Discover content will appear farther down in the Stories page.

The change is starting to roll out now on Android and will begin to show up for everyone else soon.

The update is a rare reversal from the company, whose updates — even minor ones — tend to trigger a passionate response from the app's users. Snapchat first added Discover previews to Stories when it redesigned publisher pages in June and it introduced auto-playing Stories in its chat update in March.

Both updates had proved to be pretty unpopular with Snapchat users, though, who disliked the idea of Snapchat cluttering their feed or "forcing" them to watch Stories.

Here's what it will look like once the update goes live:

Additionally, Snapchat is introducing a new feature called "Stories Playlist" for those who want to be able to watch several Stories at once. The feature is essentially a more personalized (and optional) version of the auto-advancing Stories.

Stories Playlist the allows users to queue up several Stories from their feed at once and play them in a row.

While the changes will likely come as welcome news to many Snapchat fans, the update will also have implications for Snapchat advertisers, as the auto-advancing Stories helped allow ads to play in between Stories. However, a spokesperson for Snap tells us that ads will continue to play in between Stories ("mid-roll" in ad parlance) within the playlist feature. Ads will also now sometimes appear at the end of a single story (or "post-roll" in ad speak.)
