'Racists for Trump' is an 'SNL' sketch, not a campaign ad

You'd be forgiven for thinking this comedy sketch is an actual campaign ad after former KKK head David Duke recently endorsed Donald Trump as the Republican nominee for president.

Saturday Night Live made its thoughts on Trump's unexpected success with voters known with a scathing faux campaign ad. "Racists for Trump" highlights the Republican frontrunner's strongest base of supporters, as the SNL writers see it.

"He's going to take our economy from here, to here," a smiling Beck Bennett says to the camera, raising his arm to reveal a Nazi swastika armband.

"He's not some cautious politician. He says what I'm thinking," Vanessa Bayer said, emitting a little chuckle as she showed off the KKK uniform she'd been ironing.

The ad ends with a flannel-clad outdoorsman (Kyle Mooney) carrying firewood over to a burning cross as a "Racists for Trump" logo appears. Message received.

The frequently outspoken Trump -- a two-time SNL host -- has yet to respond to the sketch.

Between this and the recent skewering of confused white people over Beyonce's "Formation" message, SNL sure has been on fire lately.
