On Tuesday night, Donald J. Trump will address Congress in his first official State of the Union address as president, but some attendees are reportedly still waiting for their tickets because of a typo.

It seems that tickets set to be given to guests of the House of Representatives labeled the event as the "State of the Uniom," causing a delay in their distribution.

Now, lest we put the blame for this muck-up squarely on Trump's shoulders -- and, given his history of spelling mistakes, one can be forgiven for the suggestion -- Politico notes that the President is off the hook, for once. The responsibility for these tickets falls to the office of the House Sergeant at Arms, Paul Irving. Mashable has reached out to Irving's office for comment.

Besides previous Trump misspellings, the bumbled ticket also brings to mind the time Hofstra University misspelled Hillary Clinton's name on tickets for the first 2016 presidential debate.

All that said, maybe the misspelling is on purpose, Irving's attempt at sneaking out a metaphor of the state of America in 2018. Maybe Irving is sending us a message that, hey, yes, things are messed up but we can get through this if we work hard at fixing the mistakes in our country and that only through these efforts can we truly be united once more.

Or maybe his office just needs a copy editor.
