'Game of Thrones' actor is a total Stannis, didn't care for the series
It's safe to say that no one on or watching Game of Thrones is team Stannis (except the unflinchingly loyal Davos), so it shouldn't be a surprise to learn that even the actor who plays him, Stephen Dillane, doesn't much care for the man.
A recent interview revealed that Dillane had little to say about his character or experience on Game of Thrones and that the global television phenomenon is, to him, just another job.

Dillane spoke to the French magazine Liberation, as translated below by Mashable France:
Reluctant to tackle the subject ("do we HAVE to talk about it?"), he never participated in the huge promotional campaigns and tours. Why not? "Not interested" he retorts, upset...
Evasive, he says, "I don't regret doing Game of Thrones, but I have nothing to say about it. I didn't understand the series nor its success when I was a part of it. The experience has been weird, it really passed me by. For a role to please me, I have to be interested in it, which was not really the case. I was a bit overwhelmed by everything that happened."
However, he confirms that his character will not come back, even as a ghost. About shooting in costume [in] the four corners of the world, [he] won't [say] anything, except that "it was difficult because it [the show] is a huge machine."
Why, then, go for it ? Long silence, more and more exasperated. "Among other things, for the money."
There you have it. Classic Stannis.
