It's kind of amazing that Donald Trump has yet to get into a Twitter feud with Stephen King.

Given how often the horror master tweets about the president, and how often the president likes to hit back at people who have said mean things about him, you'd have thought the two would have come to blows.

But it hasn't happened yet. So far their relationship, aside from a brief blocking phase, has mainly consisted of King taking repeated potshots.

And over the past weekend, he's been at it again.

It started with Trump's continuing attacks on the Democratic Congresswomen he targeted with a series of racist tweets last weekend. Rather than apologising, Trump has continued to direct a stream of criticism towards them over the past week, both on Twitter and during rallies.

On Sunday, he tweeted that he didn't think they "are capable of loving" America.

A few hours later, King responded. Rather than arguing with the president, he simply offered a theory about Trump's worldview.

That tweet has now been shared over 10,000 times.

It wasn't the only viral tweet the author posted about Trump over the weekend, either. On Saturday, he turned the former Apprentice host's catchphrase around on him.

Good thing King picked up his National Medal of Arts while Obama was still in charge.
