The offensive comments just keep on coming this election season.

Towards the end of last night's vice presidential debate, Mike Pence caused quite the commotion after Democratic candidate Tim Kaine highlighted several derogatory comments Pence's running mate, Donald Trump, has made about Mexicans.

Pence reacted to Kaine's words by saying, "Senator, you whipped out that Mexican thing again."

Following the debate, the statement started trending on Twitter and people began using #ThatMexicanThing as a means to show pride in their Mexican heritage and enlighten Pence on what being Mexican really entails.

Trump's demeaning comments towards Mexicans were trumped by numerous tweets that celebrated hardworking family members, dedicated military service and other impressive accomplishments from people of Hispanic and Latino descent.
