This is just too big to deal with. (That's what she said.)

In an era of countless reboots flooding our television screens, maybe it's not such a good idea to joke about bringing back a show with a cult-like following.

Steve Carell a.k.a. Michael Scott from The Office tweeted a bombshell to his 4.94 million followers on Wednesday afternoon to announce that NBC was bringing back the hit show.

Fans were elated, and quickly tweeted as many Office GIFs as possible back at Carell.

Hate to break it to you, but Carell was just trolling. He followed up the tweet five minutes later to bash the news that NBC is bringing back Will & Grace for a 10-episode revival.

The fans were not pleased.

Surely this sent at least a few NBC execs into fury at the chance that Carell would return to do even one single episode of The Office.

The U.S. version of The Office ran for nine seasons, and its last episode aired on May 16, 2013, with a reunion from Carell, who left the show in Season 7.
