Tinashe says she didn't choose Chris Brown collaboration: 'It was really the label'
Tinashe wants you to know that her Chris Brown collaboration wasn't her choice.
It was her label's.
In an interview with ET, the singer chatted about how her song 2015 song "Player," which featured Chris Brown, came to fruition. Apparently, Brown heard the song and really liked it, she explained. Previously, he'd also been on a list of artists she wanted to work with.

"He just hopped on the song and then we had a Chris verse," Tinashe said.
But then she cupped her hand and whispered.
"It was really the label," she said. "It wasn't me."
And there you have it.
The news comes on the heels of backlash Brown's been facing recent comments he made about singer Kehlani. He called her apparent suicide attempt a ploy for attention.
Afterward, numerous young pop stars, including Tinashe, Zendaya, and Fifth Harmony's Normani Kordei and Dinah-Jane Hansen, reportedly unfollowed Brown on social media.
Brown addressed the unfollowing by commenting on a fan's Instagram post.
Brown responded from his official account, telling his supporters to "not be petty wit these children."

TEAM BREEZY, DONT GO HAM on these little girls. Notice that I'm not the one asking to get on anyone's record, this is them thinking they are standing for something. Im not in a group nor will I be concerned this much with an opinion. I've ran through the mud and took it like a man. I don't care if the celebrities don't like what it is. They don't like me anyway because they have to be second. You don't open the door for me, I kick it down. So team breezy let's not be petty wit these children. There is a difference between career and life. Y'all are madE into figures. I WAS BORN CHRIS BROWN!
