Tinder reveals which athletes were the most right-swiped in Rio

Now that the Olympic Games are over, we've been gifted the results of another kind of tally. Tinder has bestowed upon the world the results of their data, which tells us which sports are home to the most lusted-after athletes.

During the games Tinder reported that active users, matches and swipes around the Olympic Village increased daily with speed of Usain Bolt casually obliterating his track competition. Now it's clear which sports are the most desirable.

Exceptional news for tennis players! Olympian tennis dudes were on the receiving end of the most right-swipes and table tennis players took out top spot right-swipes on ladies in Rio.

Just how did Tinder figure out which athlete's were getting swiped on? The data was gathered from Tinder bios -- so if someone were to list themselves as a professional swimmer, that data would also be recorded.

The top six spots for 'most-swiped' ranked by sport have been released by Tinder and are listed below:

Women's sports

1. Table Tennis

2. Field Hockey

3. Rowing

4. Weightlifting

5. Rugby

6. Swimming

Men's sports

1. Tennis

2. Weightlifting

3. Gymnastics

4. Sport Shooting

5. Judo

6. Boxing

Although the sport of an athlete may not directly correlate to their overall approval rating (don't take up tennis just yet fellas), it does raise some questions. Some of which could be answered with this GIF.
