LONDON -- It isn't uncommon to come across random items when walking down your average street in London. Discarded rubbish. Bottles. Graffiti.

It's not often you come across a crucified rabbit made entirely out of toast, though.

What the hell is going on in the photo above, exactly? Why has someone taken the time and bread to make a toast model? Why did they choose a crucified rabbit as the object of their artistic venture? Why go to all that trouble only to leave said toast rabbit discarded outside Tooting Broadway station for the pigeons to ransack?

None of it makes any sense.

But the plot thickens: believe it or not, this isn't the first time toast sculptures have been spotted around London. In April last year, an impressively detailed model of the Taj Mahal -- made entirely out of toast -- was found in Peckham.

So what's going on exactly?

Well, as London 24 discovered, there may be a simple solution -- and it lies in a regular East London event known as House of Toast.

Basically, there's a class you can go to in London where people get together every now and then and make random objects out of toast.

How great is that?

Obviously we don't have proof that the toast rabbit was crafted at that event, but hey -- what other explanation could there be?
