Joke's on you, America -- did you think this was over?

A federal appeals court on Monday reinstated Tom Brady's four-game suspension over "Deflategate," the farcical NFL scandal that has now overshadowed parts of three seasons.

The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Monday in Manhattan that Brady must serve a four-game suspension imposed by the NFL for his alleged role in deflating footballs below regulation levels during a playoff game the season before last.

Last September, a Manhattan judge ruled in the New England Patriots quarterback's favor, allowing him to dodge serving the suspension last season. Now -- barring any further changes of course -- it appears he'll have to serve the suspension to begin the 2016 NFL season.

If you're scoring at home, this story has dragged on for 15 months now. It's now April 2016 and we are still talking about "Deflategate," apparently.

But Monday's latest twist did bring one silver lining -- this meme, which combines an infamous courtroom sketch of Brady with crying Michael Jordan

In a sports world that that often seems to have gone through the rabbit hole and entered full absurdity, we'll always have the memes to keep us grounded.

God bless the memes.
