The New York Times dropped another scoop Friday, this time including some delicious details about what Donald Trump told the Russians in the Oval Office last week. This was apparently a direct quote from Trump: “I just fired the head of the FBI. He was crazy, a real nut job."

The fact that Trump called former FBI director James Comey a "nut job" managed to stand out amongst all the head-spinning news this week. Especially in light of Comey's firing last week and that Trump may have asked Comey to back off investigating Michael Flynn in the Russian election hacking probe.

Of course, it was only a matter of minutes before Twitter had a heyday with the "nut job" quote. It was also perfect timing that the animated film Nut Job just announced that a sequel was coming to theaters in August.

Everyone quickly realized Trump has a history of using the insult "nut job."

Here's the full video of the San Jose rally from June 2016 where Trump called out Bernie Sanders. And back in February 2016 he used the same term to describe Lindsey Graham.

The comment naturally made its way to Merriam-Webster -- where the dictionary said searches for "nutjob" were trending Friday.

Calling anyone and everyone a nut job is seemingly a tough habit to crack for Trump.
