Tony Schwartz, the man who ghostwrote Trump's 1987 memoir The Art of the Deal, is going after his former literary partner on Twitter after the first presidential debate.

As the debate wrapped up, Schwartz tweeted that Trump was "ignorant, bullying, dishonest" and had some other choice words.

Schwartz -- and his time with Trump -- was the subject of a July 2016 New Yorker piece that put the media spotlight on the ghostwriter and his criticism of Trump's campaign.

Tonight is hardly the first time Schwartz has gone after Trump on Twitter; it has been a constant theme over the last few months and, particularly, in the run-up to Monday night's debate.

Schwartz has gone on record with the New York Times that he's assisting Hillary Clinton's campaign, passing along advice to her aides, in an attempt to make amends for helping Trump become popular via the book.

“I don’t think I can ever even the score; I don’t think I can ever set it totally straight," he said, adding that all he can do is "say the truth that I know in the service of trying to help save the country and the world from a guy who is exceptionally dangerous.”
