Despite Joaquin Phoenix's uncontrollable laughter, Joker leaves you with very, very little to smile about.

Until the internet gets involved.

A viral tweet by Twitter user @ryanheezy, in which a scene from the film involving Arthur Fleck bursting out into one of his signature cackles, has been dubbed over with the sound of a chuckling Seth Rogen. And it works.

Joker's uncontrollable outbursts of laughter play an important role in the film and Phoenix goes to great lengths to convey a sense of authenticity. But it's hard to see the film, which takes itself very, very seriously (lol), in the same light anymore after this tweet.

Like many an overdub before it, the tweet has set off a contagious flurry of other versions.

People say laughing is contagious. I couldn't resist making one of my own.

All the fun and games aside, this viral trend leaves one very important question unanswered. What would happen if we turned the tables and dubbed Seth Rogen with Joker's laugh? Well, folks, it's... I don't know, decide for yourselves. You've been warned.

Who's laughing now?
