UConn's husky mascot is the furry star of alumni proposal

Very, very good doggie.

If you ask us, the best kind of marriage proposals always involves the help of an adorable animal. It's an instant YES.

That's why University of Connecticut alumnus Daniel Bronko (class of '15) enlisted in the assistance of UConn mascot Jonathan XIV the husky to ask fellow alumnus Holly Korona (class of '13) to be his wife.

Bronko said that UConn holds a special place in their hearts because it's where the couple first met through a work retreat for the university's recreation center. They started dating four months after they met and the rest is love history. He decided to propose near Mirror Lake, a place on campus where the couple spent most of their time.

"We spent a lot of time getting to know each other early on at that exact spot on campus, so I knew that was going to be the spot I chose," Bronko explained.

As for why he included Jonathan, he said the decision was inspired by his fiancé's love of pups. "Holly is a lover of absolutely ALL dogs, so I thought it would be a nice and meaningful touch enlisting the help of the most famous dog in Connecticut," he said. "I actually reached out to Jonathan's Facebook page, which was weird because I've never direct messaged a dog before. But luckily, his handlers reached out to me and we were able to set it up where Jonathan would actually be delivering the ring."

Jonathan kept it calm, cool, and collected as he was entrusted with the engagement ring and stood nearby until it was his time to shine. He did such a good job that Korona suggested having him as the ring bearer at the couple's future wedding. Bronko posted this video of Jonathan's entrance and the priceless proposal on Facebook:

Jonathan also celebrated the happy occasion by posting pictures on his Facebook. With some commentary in the captions, he hilariously lets us all know what he was thinking during the big moment:

She said yes! And who wouldn't? This guy has set the bar pretty high for all future wedding proposals and he has nothing but nice things to say about his trusty proposal partner.

"Jonathan was the PERFECT ring bearer," Bronko gushed. "He sure was more calm and collected than I was at that point. As soon as Holly saw Jonathan, she started crying. I know it was his first proposal he's been a part of, but he seemed like a professional."

Let's make it standard that all proposals must have at least one dog involved, shall we?
