We've had the privilege of a long sizzle reel at Comic-Con, took a sneak peek at the first trailer, and have waited, patiently as we could, for the next big bite of Luc Besson's space adventure Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets.

(Checks watch) Isn't it about time for some sweet character posters?

Ladies and gentlemen, it is our utterly spaced-out pleasure to present not one, not two, but all eight full-rez character posters from Valerian, a moment which signals a couple of key things.

Number one: A few of the creatures and critters and 'bots we've just glimpsed at in previous materials are actually going to be full-blown characters -- including Melo (the rainbow-colored pet lizard we see riding on the shoulder of one of the Pearls); K-Tron, the NBA-sized armed robot guards; and Omelite, a maintenance 'bot.

Number two: Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets is right around the corner, with less than three months before its July 21 global release. Which means a lot more goodies are on the way.

Meanwhile, enjoy these eight posters in all their interplanetary glory:
