All jokes aside, people aren't sick of the Fast and Furious franchise yet. Just ask Vin Diesel, star of 2017's Fate of the Furious and this year's top-grossing actor.

On Tuesday Forbes reported that Diesel earned an impressive $1.6 billion in global ticketing receipts in 2017, no doubt thanks to the eighth installment of the action franchise, which topped $1.2 billion in the global box office.

Along with the Fast and Furious film Diesel also starred in xXx: The Return of Xander Cage this year.

Trailing close behind Diesel was his Fast and Furious co-star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, at $1.5 billion. (You may remember him from other, less successful 2017 films too, like Baywatch.)

And Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot was the year's third top-grossing actor (and top-grossing woman), bringing in an impressive $1.4 billion.

In addition to Wonder Woman, which dominated the box office — earning $100.5 million in ticket sales during its first week — Gadot also starred in Justice League.

What does all this prove? Big action films won't be slowing down any time soon.
