Vine's been gone for a year, but we still think about these Vines every day

The immortal Vines.

It's been a year since Vine kicked the bucket, but that doesn't mean we've forgotten our favorite six-second vids.

On Jan. 17, 2017, the Vine app became Vine Camera, and users were rendered unable to post new videos to the Vine community. But did this mean we stopped watching Vines? No! Thanks to YouTube and the Vine archive, which works only sometimes, we've been able to watch old classics like Peanut Butter Baby and Maple the Dog whenever our hearts desire. Mostly.

Here are nine sweet, sweet Vines we still think about every day. Rest in peace, beautiful social network -- we can't wait for your next iteration.

1. Jeb Bush loves technology

I have never felt a more powerful mix of schadenfreude and secondhand embarrassment than when I watch this Vic Berger clip of Jeb Bush naming Apple products. The corny music, Jeb's panicked half-smile as he pats his Apple watch, the idea that anyone would ever utter the phrase "Macbook Pro, baby" -- it's all so bad, it makes for one of the most compelling videos I've ever seen. —Chloe Bryan

2. Do it for the Vine

One of the best parts about Vine was the hilarious moments of kids captured. “Do It For the Vine” was iconic—and during days where things like #CarefreeBlackKids2k16 were trending, it was fun and restorative at the same time. —Martha Tesema

3. Who is she

Would it be a stretch to suggest that chloe lmao's iconic "who is she" Vine unwittingly helped revive the tiny sunglasses trend that plagues us today? With 121.1 million vine loops since July 2015, we think that's a fair assessment. Has Kanye seen this video—Laura Vitto

4. "Run Away with Me" seal

Vines set to Carly Rae Jepsen's "Run Away With Me" are among the purest things the internet has ever produced. This spinning seal holding a toy saxophone is no exception -- and proof that many of Vine's best clips were its most wholesome. —C.B.

5. And they were roommates

Sketch vines were fantastic and all, but nothing beats the organic Vines that are not pre-written and just capture random spontaneous moments. Who knows why this dude was filming but it's even under the 6-second limit and still makes me chuckle every time.—M.T.

6. That's my opinion

I am not a dedicated viewer of Real Housewives franchise, but I have to thank Bravo and Andy Cohen for giving me my favorite Vine of all time. Personally, I like a useful Vine – one that I can send to a friend in lieu of an actual response. This one from Viner quensadilla – a remix of a video from Viner baesil – fits the bill. It's over-the-top. It's a little sad. Shannon Beador's silent blink 3/4 of the way through makes me laugh so hard that I tear up. Could I ask for better? —L.V.

7. Super Mario dog

This Marlo Meekins Vine is so cute, so funny, and so genuinely creative that it makes me mourn the loss of Vine not just as a source of laughs, but as an art form. Plus, it stars not one, but two dog actors. —C.B.

8. Why you always lying

It was the Vine that transcended Vine. Once, I heard an actual remix of it all in a bar. It’s catchy, it’s hilarious, and to this day I’m still wondering why there’s a random toilet. —M.T.

9. Moving day

Shout out to Rosie Pig, the best dog on the internet and the only animal that could make the hell of moving look fun. Also worth viewing: Rosie vs. snacks. —L.V.
