Netflix's 'Voltron: Legendary Defender' creates new fan group: 'Brotrons'
LOS ANGELES -- Who says Voltron superfans are made up of just cartoon-loving kids?
According to a new comical video from Netflix, exclusively debuting on Mashable (above), the reboot of the popular '80s cartoon has a growing following of "brotrons," or adult superfans.

"You've probably heard of the '80s classic cartoon Voltron, which recently resurfaced as a Netflix original series. But have you heard of Brotrons? They're a passionate community of superfans who've brought the intergalactic hero into their everyday lives in surprising ways — and what they learned about love and life along the way is totally inspiring."
Netflix's roughly 2-minute video was inspired by a new Netflix survey that found nearly one-third of adult men (31%) in the U.S. watch kids' cartoons (without kids present) at least once a week.
The series, which DreamWorks Animation and Netflix announced in January, is a "reimagining" of the animated '80s series, Voltron: Defender of the Universe.
Lauren Montgomery (The Legend of Korra) and Joaquim Dos Santos (Avatar: The Last Airbender) serve as executive producers, and Tim Hedrick (also from Avatar/Korra) serves as head writer.
It debuted on Netflix on June 10.
