Thousands of people had trouble loading X this morning.

On Downdetector, reports of problems with X spiked to nearly 40,000 at 8:30 a.m. and 8:45 a.m. ET on Monday morning. (Disclosure: Downdetector is owned by Ziff Davis, the same parent company as Mashable.) Comments popped up by the dozens on Downdetector as well, as users commiserated with each other.

However, by 9 a.m. ET reports began to decrease, and by 10 a.m. ET they were down to around 1,000. Still, that's less than the baseline of 17-19 reports, so if X is taking a while to load for you right now, you're not alone.
