The Oscars are decidedly less glamorous when watched from your desk on just another Monday morning in Australia.

Still, if you want to see Leo get his inevitable Oscar and the "it's cool" face of all the celebrities when they lose, you have a few options.

The red carpet begins at 10 a.m. AEDT, while the 88th annual Academy Awards ceremony officially kicks off at 12.30 p.m. AEDT.

Free to air

If you're lucky enough to work from home or have a cool boss, you can watch the ceremony on free-to-air on Channel Nine, the channel with this year's exclusive rights Down Under.

Streaming

Channel Nine's streaming platform, 9Now, will also be streaming the event. You'll have to sign up with the service, however, but at least it's free. You can watch on your browser or download the associated mobile app.

You could also fire up a VPN and try watching the live stream through its U.S. broadcaster, ABC. It could be more complicated than it looks, however, as you need to have U.S. cable provider logins valid in a handful of American cities to watch via ABC.com or the WATCH ABC app. (We tried with no luck -- but if you find a workaround, let us know.)

Pay TV

You can check out the red carpet and associated celebrity fashion commentary on Foxtel's E! Live from the Red Carpet, if you have a subscription. The red carpet will also be available on the Foxtel Go mobile app.

Once the ceremony starts, however, you'll need to return to Channel Nine to see who actually gets the gongs.
