Savina Petkova
Savina Petkova is a Bulgarian freelance film and entertainment writer based in London with an actual PhD on what her friends call “weird movies” — those featuring human-to-animal metamorphoses. She is a Rotten Tomatoes-Approved Critic, a member of the European Film Academy and the London Critics Circle.
Her long form features praise cinema as a tool to better understand oneself – from BDSM to representations of asexuality, how the USA imagines Eastern Europe as a place of horrors, to finding solace in films after being ghosted. Savina reviews festival premieres for The Film Stage and Sight and Sound Magazine among others, and interviews talent for Cineuropa, Filmmaker Magazine, and Variety.
