TL;DR: As of Dec. 23, the Govee Flow Pro LED Smart Light Bars are on sale at a discounted price on Amazon.

Playing video games or watching TV or movies in a darkly lit room probably won't do any real damage to your eyes. But if you often find yourself rubbing your eyes or feeling irritated after viewing a screen and sitting in the dark for a while, there's a reason for that.

The imbalance between the bright screen and all that darkness around it can force your eyes to work too hard to focus, which strains your eyes and can lead to headaches and even migraines. That problem can be mitigated by some nifty backlighting of your home theater or computer monitor setup — and the Govee Flow Pro LED Smart Light Bars is an effective means of handling that problem while dialing up your viewing experience at the same time.

The system features a pair of Govee light bars that can be positioned easily along the sides or even directly on the back of your flatscreen TV or monitor with the included mounting brackets.

While many similar backlighting systems can only project one color at a time, these bars are powered by Govee’s own proprietary RGBIC light-displaying technology. That makes it possible for each bar to present multiple colors at once, creating a life-like halo of light around your screen for an effect that makes it feel like your screen scene is extending out across your wall.

And it knows which of its 16 million different colors to use thanks to another Goveee innovation, the Color Sense system. Using the WiFi-connected camera included with the set, the cam reads and detects what's happening on your screen, then replicates the colors and their positions immediately through the light bars. So if you're watching a TV show set deep in the Amazon rainforest, the system will read all that on-screen greenery and set your bias lighting to match.

The smart light bar kit also has a built-in mic, which allows the system to also be responsive to music and other audio in your media. Whether you're watching a concert, listening to streaming music, or just belting out some of your own on karaoke night, the Flow Pro LED bars will flash RGBIC lighting effects in tempo with your tunes step for step.

And as smart bars, this entire system syncs with your smart home so your lighting can all be run with voice commands. If you’ve got an Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant, they’ll allow owners to power up, power down, or change lighting patterns, all with your voice. Of course, all the lighting options are also available through the Govee Home app.

You can add the Govee Flow Pro Light Bars to your computer or home entertainment system now at a special Amazon price.
