Imagine feeling the heat of a flamethrower when you pull one out in Battlefield, or the wind against you when you ride on your horse in Breath of the Wild, or the taste of salt when Bastion whittles away your health and kills you in Overwatch. Okay, maybe that last one wouldn't actually happen, but this Kickstarter project wants to immerse you in your video game reality by letting you feel the elements as you play.

Vortx is a brand new peripheral that you can hook up to your TV or PC. It analyzes on-screen effects in real time and generates that same sensation for you to feel yourself. According to the campaign page, it will allow you to feel elements like wind, fire, and ice as they happen on your screen.

Check out its campaign video:

The Vortx also works for video platforms like Netflix and HBO Go, so you can feel Drogon's fiery breath in Game of Thrones or Elsa's icy constructs in Frozen.
