In recent months, television host James Corden has become well known for his celebrity-packed "Carpool Karaoke" sessions, and now he's bringing that music celeb cachet to Apple Music in a new ad. Following up from his appearance alongside Tim Cook at the start of the recent iPhone 7 event, Corden is back, but this time, outside of his carpool environment.

Corden is shown at an Apple Music marketing pitch meeting, offering commercial ideas to Apple's senior vice president of internet software and services, Eddy Cue, Apple Music's head of global consumer marketing, Bozoma Saint John, and Beats co-founder Jimmy Iovine. Aside from the comedic aspects, the commercial is a rare look at Apple execs being integrated into an Apple commercial, boosting their profiles beyond the confines of the live Apple event stage.

The humor-laced video also includes a number of possible Apple Music commercial ideas, including Corden as David Bowie, Corden floating in a sea of apples, and even one that features a surprise appearance from Pharrell Williams.

The collaboration makes sense given Apple's recent move to acquire the rights to stream a new version of Corden's mobile karaoke spots. And even though Corden won't be the host of the new Apple Music show, this short spot is a hint that Apple's version of the show might actually be pretty good.
