The final Borderlands trailer has landed with the sort of "Ka-boom!" that would make Tiny Tina grin with malevolent glee. Along with an all-star cast, it's got the threat of universal doom, unexpected alliances, and ultra-violent battles on the fantastical planet of Pandora. (No, not that one.)

Based on the best-selling action/RPG/shoot 'n' loot video game series, Borderlands follows a ragtag group of misfits on a perilous quest through a deadly extraterrestrial terrain full of violent inhabitants. Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Edgar Ramírez, Ariana Greenblatt, Florian Munteanu, Gina Gershon, and Jamie Lee Curtis all make appearances, while Jack Black lends his voice to everyone's favorite pesky robot sidekick Claptrap (who recently came by the Mashable offices).

Co-written and directed by Eli Roth, this action-packed adventure is bringing bonkers energy and a wild style that's sure to win over fans when it hits next month.

Borderlands opens only in theaters Aug. 8.
