Another day, another fresh song parody from a high school principal. This time, it's a catchy tune all about the coronavirus.

As states debate whether or not schools should resume in-person classes in September, Dr. Quentin J. Lee, the principal at Childersburg High School in Alabama, dropped a parody music video set to MC Hammer's 1990 jam, "U Can't Touch This."

With a mask on his face and a bottle of hand sanitizer and a non-contact forehead thermometer in his hands, Lee rapped about the many COVID-19 safety measures that need to take place in schools. He enforced six feet of social distancing in the halls, handed out gloves to students, cleaned surfaces with Lysol, and sang about the importance of hand washing.

Remember the good old days when high school principals used to make snow day videos or create lighthearted parodies to "Uptown Funk" or Rebecca Black's "Friday?" Now we're making and watching depressing videos about stressful CDC guidelines and deadly viruses instead. How the times have changed.

In a recent interview with Alabama News Center, Lee explained that he wrote the coronavirus rap in just 15 minutes. "Doing silly stuff is something I really enjoy," Lee said. "I released a song in May about my feelings toward COVID, and it was just me sitting at my desk screaming. It made national media, and I figured it was time to do something different."

At the time of writing, Lee's "U Can't Touch This" parody had more than 3 million views on YouTube, and the lyrics are extremely catchy.

So next time you're navigating the pandemic outside of your home, sing "STOP! Sanitize" to yourself and remember to stay safe.
