After 11 long days, Sammy the cat was finally rescued.
Somehow, the cat was able to climb about 50 feet up a pine tree in Florence, Mississippi, but was unable to climb back down. It was a cartoon concept that became a reality.
After getting into position as Sammy yelled, rescuer Robert Reese was able to lure Sammy with the one thing cats are unable to resist: canned food.
The cat was then placed into a bag for its safety, and Reese was able to safely bring it to the ground.
