On Monday, Chance the Rapper performed a new untitled track on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert -- a song, he revealed, that was written only two days before.

Chance explained that he'd originally planned to perform the unreleased song “Grown Ass Kids” from his most recent mixtape Coloring Book, but decided at the last minute to try something new instead. Why not, right?

"We had to come up with a song in a matter of days and I wanted to do something fresh. Not to lie, I've been in the studio a lot lately, cooking up some yammers. They're honestly great,” he said.

The new track features R&B breakout star Daniel Caesar. It's also classic Chance the Rapper: thought provoking lyrics accompanied by a medley of gospel and rap.

Chance is coming off of a successful year-- he made history in February when he took home three Grammys without selling any physical copies of his music.

And from the sounds of this performance, it looks like there are only more good things to come.
