The U.S. Soccer Federation has agreed to settle a lawsuit brought by female players regarding equal pay, potentially ending the lengthy dispute. In addition to promising to equalise pay between the men's and women's national teams, the settlement will include $24 million to be distributed among several female players — most of which will be backpay.

"They're admitting it: Men and women's soccer pay has been unequal for years — kind of like their World Cup victories," quipped Late Show host Stephen Colbert as a graphic compared the national women's team's four wins to the men's zero. Burn.
