A colourful alien world, an urgent mission from the president, and the son of a famous explorer are the ingredients that make up Strange World, Disney's upcoming CGI adventure from co-directors Don Hall and Qui Nguyen.

In the trailer above, we're introduced to Searcher Clade (Jake Gyllenhaal), a humble farmer whose father Jaeger Clade (Dennis Quaid) is a famous and long-lost adventurer. But after president Callisto Mal (Lucy Liu) calls on Searcher and his family to save the world, he finds himself pulled from a quiet life and following in his father's footsteps.

Jaboukie Young-White also stars as Searcher’s 16-year-old son Ethan, and Gabrielle Union plays Searcher's pilot wife Meridian, all of whom are thrown into the adventure alongside him.

Strange World opens in theaters Nov. 23.
