There's so much pain and misery in the world that sometimes it's just nice to watch a dog getting rescued from a river.

In the clip above, RSPCA Inspector Jaqui Miller pulls Hardy the labrador from the middle of a frozen river in Northumberland, UK.

The footage is pretty tense, but the ending was a happy one -- Hardy made it back to dry land with only a small cut on one paw.
